The BlackTECH ecosystem was founded to support professional immigrants with resources, mentorships, domain-specific career guidance, value-driven programs, and sponsorships and to create a vulnerable space for everyone to succeed.
Most training organizations today teach professionals for the sake of knowledge but do not tailor their programs to current realities in the job market. We have seen an increasing number of professionals who have been trained elsewhere, including those who have graduated from post-graduate studies and yet find it difficult to get jobs due to lack of project-based training and supports that are catalytic for seamless career transition.
As events unfolded and the challenges compounded, it became obvious that we must do something differently: design programs tailored to what employers are looking for, including hands-on projects and support systems to facilitate the seamless career transition of professional immigrants, newcomers and career switchers.
BlackTECH Academy was birthed to bridge these gaps and to re-engineer the concept of experiential learning.
Today, we are proud to say that we are fulfilling this mandate as we have trained and supported over 10,000+ professionals to pivot into the tech ecosystem, beating underemployment and earning the salaries they deserve.

In the vibrant tapestry of global talent, professional immigrants bring a rich blend of skills, experiences, and perspectives that contribute significantly to the cultural and economic fabric of their adopted countries. However, despite their qualifications and expertise, many professional immigrants face barriers that hinder their full integration into the workforce, leading to underemployment and a gross underutilization of their capabilities.
Breaking down these barriers is not just an ethical imperative but also an economic necessity. Professional immigrants often undergo rigorous education and training, acquiring expertise in various fields such as medicine, engineering, IT, and finance. However, upon arriving in a new country, they frequently encounter challenges such as unrecognized qualifications, cultural differences, and limited professional networks.
Underemployment is a significant consequence of these barriers. Many highly skilled immigrants end up working in jobs that do not align with their qualifications, skills, or career aspirations. This underutilization not only leads to frustration and dissatisfaction among immigrants but also represents a missed opportunity for organizations to harness diverse skills and perspectives that can drive innovation and productivity.
Together, we can rewrite the narrative for professional immigrants, transforming their struggles into success stories that inspire and pave the way for future generations.
